The kicker (Josh Lambo) missed kicks in game or at practice during the 21-22 football season. When this occurred Josh states that Mr. Meyer approached him while he was stretching in a lung position and said, “Hey Dip **, Make your Kicks” (some words excluded for the sake of the intensity) and then proceeded to kick him in the leg. From there, Lambo spoke with attorneys but was seen as “crying wolf” and called it inaccurate. Following the rest of the story, Lambo met with the council to help him back up the abuse that he had went through. At the end of the article, you can find the reports and the full written complaint that Lambo filed.

Why is this event relevant? (How does this article connect to the theme you chose from our textbook?):

I found this event to be relevant because it showed how the Jacksonville Jaguars have grown in the past year or so. I am a fan and support them by watching many of their games, so when something happens with “my team” I enjoy following along. The connection that I can make to this article and a theme that I found in the book is perseverance. I say this because just like in the textbook, Josh Lambo went through a hard time or an obstacle in his life, but he decided to push through for the people around him.

While reading the article I found many different pieces to be interesting but at the same time, many to be harmful. The article itself is a very well-written article that is short but packed with information that I haven’t known before. I have heard about the incident but never went into it to find what truly happened. While reading it gave me a breakdown of information that had been acquired but also it gave me background information as well. In the long run, I would recommend this article to any sports lover or fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars!
