End of Course Reflection :)

End of course reflection.
During the extension of this class, I have learned many things that I didn't already know about the state of Florida. This may be the American dream stance, the different wars that created our state we live in today and how our state makes its money. Each different reason had some type of story behind it that got more interesting the deeper you went. One thing that really stood out to me was the economic play that our state has on the rest of the country. The simple fact that people come from all over the country just to get a piece of our state, amazes me!
In Florida’s History, you had the different genders, races and classes that have all played a role in where we are today. For example, the men were seen as the workers while the women were the ones to stay at home and watch the children. The race diversity was close to the rest of the country, African Americans were seen as slaves while Whites were in change. But this was soon to change. Lastly, the classes in Florida were seen as rich, middle class, lower class and poor. In this time we had people like Cracker Cowboys, workers for the sharecropping and rich. During this time, each step we take has gotten us to where we are today.
In this course, although it is a good amount of reading, you are able to grasp the true history and meaning of the state of Florida. Through the duration of this class, not only did I get to learn from a book but also from going into my community and searching for answers. You are able to reflect on your readings and research by having different writing assignments that make you truly dive into the piece of text. With this class I know some of the politics, economic and social standards that have been in the past of Florida. If I could give advice to any student, I would say to choose the Blog’s. You will be able to express a part of yourself through them and be the historian you want to be. I love being able to participate in this class this semester! Thank You! :)
