End of Course Reflection :)

Kaylee Crews End of course reflection. During the extension of this class, I have learned many things that I didn't already know about the state of Florida. This may be the American dream stance, the different wars that created our state we live in today and how our state makes its money. Each different reason had some type of story behind it that got more interesting the deeper you went. One thing that really stood out to me was the economic play that our state has on the rest of the country. The simple fact that people come from all over the country just to get a piece of our state, amazes me! In Florida’s History, you had the different genders, races and classes that have all played a role in where we are today. For example, the men were seen as the workers while the women were the ones to stay at home and watch the children. The race diversity was close to the rest of the country, African Americans were seen as slaves while Whites were in change. But this was soon to change.

A Historical Site (Middle School)

Image
Hi everyone, welcome back to the Amazing blog of Florida!! Today I want to take you along and bring you to another historical site in my small town. One that I spent three years of my life at. Callahan Middle School. I attended the visit along with my Boyfriend, Brooks on November twelfth at around five in the afternoon. During our visit, we were there for around ten minutes just because it had been a part of both our lives.  Before segregation was banned, the middle school in my town was the all black high school. It states in Pine Forest Community High School (The American South), “ Starting in 1951, the black schools in Hilliard, Bryceville, and Kings Ferry were consolidated with the black school in Callahan to form Pine Forest High School.” During the time of operation, (seventeen years) it was open to grades 1-12. In 1968, is when all schools in Nassau integrated and Pine Forest High School became Callahan Middle school. All buildings have been renovated but the only true building

Hey crazy cool kids and adults!! Welcome to the Amazing Blog of Florida, if you are new here, my name is Kaylee and I am your author! Today we are going to talk about horse racing as presented in chapter seventeen. In the chapter, Captain Hendry saw Tobias' horse and it gave him the chills. Seeing the horse made him in the mood for a horse race, but we never got the inside of what a horse race is… that is what I am here for.  Horse races are not just about the big hats and cute outfits, it states in “ What is a Horse race?”, “ A horse race is a sporting event in which horses compete for the best time around a track. Horse races may be run on the flat or over a course of jumps, and on turf, sand, or synthetic materials.” In the article we get an idea of how the race is set up and how it changes due to the terrain that is presented. During the race, you can only have certain horses and ways they run. The horses that are presented in the races are “ thoroughbreds, standardbreds and
